This Sunday will be my pastor and assistant pastor's last Sunday at Freedom. I'm going to miss them both so much! Pastror Byerly is the only pastor I've ever had; and I could not have asked for better preaching to grow up under. Our church family is heartbroken and feeling a little apprehensive about the search for a new pastor. My grandpa has the huge responsibility of taking all the recommendations and calls from those who want the position and presenting them to the deacon board. He needs a lot of prayer right now. It's going to be sad going to church and not seeing Pastor Byerly and Doug. Our church has grown and been abundantly blessed under their leadership. I know that God has great plans for the future of our church. He already knows who the next pastor will be. We just have to trust Him fully, follow His leading, bond together as a church family, and not let Satan work his way in.
Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth all knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Now unto him that is able to do exeeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
~Ephesians 3:13-21
In an aside, I'm really excited about the new bible I ordered last night! I needed a new small one to use on Wed. nights. :-)
